But if you have bitter envy and strife in your heart, do not boast, and lie against the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but it is earthly, intellectual, and demoniacal. For where there are envy and strife, there are contention and every evil work.

And they were offended in Him. And Jesus said to them; A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house. And He did not many mighty works there on account of their unbelief.
And He came out thence and comes into His own country; and His disciples follow Him: and it being the Sabbath day, He began to preach in the synagogue: and many hearing were astonished, saying, Whence are these things to this one? and, What wisdom is given unto Him? Such miracles are wrought by His hands. Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary? the brother of James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? Are not His sisters here with us? And Jesus said to them; A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, and among his relatives, and in his own house. And He was not able to do any miracle there, except laying hands on a few sick people, He healed them. And He was astonished on account of their unbelief.And He went about the villages in a circuit teaching.
And the chief priests and scribes seeing the wonderful things which He did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying; Hosanna to the son of David, were indignant,
Then His disciples having come to Him say, Do you not know that the Pharisees hearing your word, were offended?
Then many of His disciples, hearing, said, This is a hard sermon; who is able to hear it? And Jesus knowing in Himself that His disciples are murmuring concerning it, said to them, Does this offend you?
Then the Jews were murmuring concerning Him, because He said, I am the bread having come down from heaven, and they continued to say, Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how does He now say; I have come down from heaven? Jesus responded and said to them, Murmur not with one another.
