wo unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye are like whited sepulchres, which to outward appearance are fine. but within are full of dead mens bones, and all sort of filth.

When the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, after having bought aromatic drugs to embalm him, went to the sepulchre very early in the morning, the first day of the week, at sun-rising.

to whom Pilate replied, you have a guard, go then, and make it as secure as you can.

Now when they were gone, some of the guards went into the city, and informed the chief priests of all that had happened. and when they were assembled with the senators, and had consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, thus instructing them; do you say "his disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.read more.
if this come to the governor's ears, we will appease him, and secure you." so they took the money, and did as they were directed: and this report is still current among the Jews at this day.
