Dead things are formed under the waters and of its dwelling places.

When the wicked man dies, his hope perishes, and the hope of unjust men shall perish.

Whatever thy hand finds to do, do it with all thy might, for there is no work nor device nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol, where thou goest.

For the living know that they shall die, but the dead do not know any thing; neither do they have any more reward, for their memory is placed into oblivion.

If a man begets a hundred sons and lives many years so that the days of his years are many, if his soul is not filled with good and also that he have no burial; I say that an aborted birth is better than he. For he came in vain and departs unto darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness. Even though he has not seen the sun nor known any thing; this one has more rest than the other.

For what delight shall he have in his house after him, being cut off in the number of his months?

He shall enter into the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light forever.

For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in Sheol who shall give thee thanks?

Shall thy wonder be known in darkness? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I have become like a lost vessel.

Freed among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou dost remember no more; and they are cut off from thy hand.

Wilt thou show wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah. Shall thy mercy be declared in the grave? or thy truth in hell?

The dead shall not praise JAH, neither any that go down into silence.

For the grave shall not confess thee, nor shall death praise thee; nor shall those that go down into the pit wait for thy truth.

Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul would have quickly dwelt with the dead.

For fire shall be kindled in my anger and shall burn unto the lowest part of Sheol and shall consume the earth with her fruit and burn up the foundations of the mountains.

Hear me speedily, O LORD; my spirit fails; hide not thy face from me lest I be like those that go down into the grave.

For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has smitten my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.

Beth He has set me in dark places as those that are dead for ever.

Because thou art so beautiful, go down, and be laid with the uncircumcised.

Yea, thou shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised and shalt lie with those that are slain with the sword.

The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of Sheol with those that help him: they are gone down; they lie with the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.

They have set him a bed in the midst of the slain with all his multitude: his graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword because they spread their terror in the land of the living, yet they have borne their shame with those that go down to the pit; he was put in the midst of the dead.

And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, who are gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their sins shall be upon their bones because they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.

And thou shall go to the end and shalt rest, and thou shalt raise up in thy lot at the end of the days.
