Job 26:5

The shades of the dead tremble underneath the waters and their inhabitants.

Ecclesiastes 9:10

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol (the place of the dead), where you are going.

Ecclesiastes 9:5

For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; and they have no more reward [here], for the memory of them is forgotten.

Job 21:21

For what pleasure or interest has a man in his house and family after he is dead, when the number of his months is cut off?

He will go to the generation of his fathers, who will nevermore see the light.

But you [Daniel, who was now over ninety years of age], go your way until the end; for you shall rest and shall stand [fast] in your allotted place at the end of the days.
