For they did not consider the matter of the loaves; but their heart was hardened.

And knowing it, he saith to them, Why are ye reasoning, because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet perceive nor understand? Have ye your mind still blinded?

"He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; lest they should see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn from their ways, and I should heal them."

Stiffnecked, and uncircumcised in heart and ears! ye do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? And they slew those who foretold the coming of the righteous one, of whom ye have now become the betrayers and murderers;

And he went into the synagogue, and spoke boldly for three months, discoursing and persuading concerning the kingdom of God. But when some were hardened, and believed not, but spoke evil of the way [of the Lord] before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, discoursing daily in the school of Tyrannus.

For the Scripture saith to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose did I raise thee up, that I might show forth my power in thee, and that my name might be made known in all the earth." So then he hath mercy on whom he will, and hardeneth whom he will.

harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of the temptation in the wilderness,

But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called Today, that none of you may be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. And the rest of men, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood, which can neither see; nor hear, nor walk; and they did not repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
