for their heart was stupified.

And Jesus knowing it saith unto them, What are ye reasoning about? because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet discern nor understand? have ye your heart still hardened?

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, that they might not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Ye stiff-necked, and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do ye. And the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, for this very purpose have I raised thee up, that I may shew forth my power in thee, and that my name may be declared through all the earth. So then He hath mercy on whom He pleaseth, and whom He will, He hardeneth.

harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness, when your fathers tempted me,

but exhort one another daily, while it is called to-day; that none of you may be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin: for we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold fast our first confidence firm unto the end; inasmuch as it is said, "To-day if ye will hear his voice,read more.
harden not your hearts, as in the provocation." For some that heard did provoke; but not all that came out of Egypt with Moses. But with whom was He provoked forty years? was it not with those that sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? and to whom did He swear that they should not enter into his rest, but to those that were disobedient? and so we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

He appoints a certain day, called To-day, saying by David so long after, (as it is recorded) "To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts."

And the rest of the men, who were not killed by these plagues, yet repented not of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk: neither did they repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their whoredom, nor of their thefts.
