13 Bible Verses about Swearing Oaths

But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest you fall under judgment.

If any man trespasses against his neighbor, and an oath is required of him to cause him to swear, and the oath comes before your altar in this house:

For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

And he called it Shibah: therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day.

And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray you, your hand under my thigh: And I will make you swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that you shall not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:
