Now these are the last words of David. David, the son of Jesse, said, and the man who was raised up high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet cantor of Israel, said, (The Spirit of the LORD has spoken by me, and his word has been in my tongue.

Yet many years didst thou forbear them and didst protest against them with thy spirit by the hand of thy prophets; yet they did not hear; therefore, thou didst give them into the hand of the peoples of the land.

And spirit entered into me when he spoke unto me and set me upon my feet, and I heard him that spoke unto me.

Afterwards the Spirit took me up and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into the land of the Chaldeans to the captives. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. Then I spoke unto the captives all the words of the LORD that he had showed me.

But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his rebellion, and to Israel his sin.

Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone lest they should hear the law and the words which the LORD of the hosts has sent by his Spirit by the hand of the former prophets; therefore came great wrath from the LORD of the hosts.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

understanding this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy did not come in times past by the will of man, but the holy men of God spoke being inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit saith, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: Where your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.read more.
Therefore, I was indignant with that generation and said, They do always err from their heart, and they have not known my ways. So I swore in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.

Likewise the Holy Spirit gives us the same witness, who afterwards said, This is the testament that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will give my laws in their hearts, and in their souls will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

searching when and in what point of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, which announced beforehand the afflictions that were to come upon the Christ, and the glory that should follow them.

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that God has given us. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but with doctrine of the Holy Spirit, jointly fitting spiritual things by spiritual means. But the natural man does not perceive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he understand them because they are spiritually discerned.read more.
But he that is spiritual discerns all things, yet he is discerned by no one. For who has known the understanding of the Lord? Who has instructed him? But we have the understanding of Christ.

For the Lord is the Spirit, and where that Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The Holy Spirit signifying in this, that the way into the sanctuary was not yet made manifest, as long as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

But ye have the anointing of the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have not written unto you as if ye ignore the truth, but as unto those that know it, and that no lie is of the truth. By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

And this shall be my covenant with them, said the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words, which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from now on and for ever.

For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God does not give the Spirit by measure unto him.

but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit and not in the letter, whose praise is not of men, but of God.

But now we are free from the law of death in which we were held, that we might serve in newness of Spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

who also has made us able ministers of the new testament, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

This only would I learn of you, Did ye receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by the obedient ear of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun by the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.read more.
He therefore that gives unto you the Spirit and does works of power among you, does he do it by the works of the law or by the obedient ear of faith?

But if ye are led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Ye are empty of the Christ, whosoever of you that justify yourselves by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
