But I tell you, do not resist a wicked person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other to that person.
When someone slaps you on one cheek offer the other. Give your coat to the one who takes your topcoat.
See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone. But follow that which is good, both among you, and to all men.
Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, brotherly, tenderhearted, and humble. Do not repay evil for evil, or insult for insult. Do just the opposite. By the living God Jehovah, David declared, I know that Jehovah will kill Saul, either when his time comes to die a natural death or when he dies in battle. Jehovah forbid that I should try to harm the one Jehovah anointed to be king. Just take his spear and his water jar and go.
