REBUKE not harshly an aged man, but admonish him as a father; the younger men as brethren;

In like manner, ye who are younger persons, be in subjection to your elders: but all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed from head to foot with humility: for God sets himself in opposition to the proud, but he giveth grace to the lowly.

"Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with a promise;) that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest be long-lived upon earth."

But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn as their first duty to shew their piety towards their own family, and make a grateful return to their progenitors: for this is becoming and acceptable before God.

CHILDREN, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Children, be obedient to your parents in all things; for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.

And he said unto them, Wherefore did ye seek me? did you not know, that I must be occupied with my Father's affairs? And they understood not the meaning of what he spake to them. And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was in subjection to them: though his mother preserved all these sayings in her heart. And Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.

But flee youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
