In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God perhaps will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth:

Take heed to thyself and to thy doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou wilt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

But these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life through his name.

For when in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling-block, and to the Greeks foolishness;read more.
But to them who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evil-doers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good deportment in Christ.

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing from whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the sacred scriptures, which are able to make thee wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir-tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle-tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

If thou shalt put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou wilt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished by the words of faith and of good doctrine, to which thou hast attained.

Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed to thee keep by the Holy Spirit which dwelleth in us.

And the things that thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
