'Among' in the Bible
I say to you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
Other seed fell among the thorns; and the thorns grew up with it and choked it out.
The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
Departing, they began going throughout the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
An argument started among them as to which of them might be the greatest.
and said to them, “Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.”
Jesus replied and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.
“What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?
And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.
And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him,
They reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?’
“There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,
And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, “Take this and share it among yourselves;
And they began to discuss among themselves which one of them it might be who was going to do this thing.
And there arose also a dispute among them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest.
But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant.
For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.
After they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter was sitting among them.
But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.
and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead?
But also some women among us amazed us. When they were at the tomb early in the morning,
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John answered them saying, “I baptize in water, but among you stands One whom you do not know.
Jesus answered and said to them, “Do not grumble among yourselves.
There was much grumbling among the crowds concerning Him; some were saying, “He is a good man”; others were saying, “No, on the contrary, He leads the people astray.”
The Jews then said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we will not find Him? He is not intending to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks, is He?
But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”
Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, “This man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” But others were saying, “How can a man who is a sinner perform such signs?” And there was a division among them.
A division occurred again among the Jews because of these words.
Therefore Jesus no longer continued to walk publicly among the Jews, but went away from there to the country near the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim; and there He stayed with the disciples.
Now there were some Greeks among those who were going up to worship at the feast;
So Jesus said to them, “For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes.
If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well.
So they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be”; this was to fulfill the Scripture: “They divided My outer garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots.”
Therefore this saying went out among the brethren that that disciple would not die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?”
For he was counted among us and received his share in this ministry.”
Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us—
And it will be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
But so that it will not spread any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no longer to any man in this name.”
For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales
At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s portico.

“Therefore,” he *said, “let the influential men among you go there with me, and if there is anything wrong about the man, let them prosecute him.”

and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written,“Therefore I will give praise to You among the Gentiles,And I will sing to Your name.”
For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
