'Betrothed' in the Bible
And if he has betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
If a man should entice a virgin that is not betrothed and lie with her, he shall surely endow her and take her to be his wife.
And when a man lies carnally with a woman that is a bondmaid, betrothed to a husband and has not been completely ransomed nor been given her freedom, both shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death because she is not free.
And what man is there that has betrothed a wife and has not taken her? Let him go and return unto his house lest peradventure he die in the battle and another man take her.
When a damsel that is a virgin is betrothed unto a husband and a man finds her in the city and lies with her,
But if the man found a betrothed damsel in the field and the man forced her and lay with her; then only the man that lay with her shall die;
For he found her in the field and the betrothed damsel cried out, and there was no one to save her.
