'Cherishes' in the Bible

For no one ever hated his own body, but [instead] he nourishes and protects and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,

For the Lord disciplines and corrects those whom He loves,And He punishes every son whom He receives and welcomes [to His heart].”

We have come to know [by personal observation and experience], and have believed [with deep, consistent faith] the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides continually in him.
