'Enemy' in the Bible

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?

He teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.

“He has also kindled His anger against meAnd considered me as His enemy.

Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.

“Have I rejoiced at the extinction of my enemy,Or exulted when evil befell him?

“No, I have not allowed my mouth to sinBy cursing my enemy and asking for his life.

Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,

“Shall one who hates justice [and is an enemy of right] govern?And will you condemn Him who is just and mighty?
