'Expecting' in the Bible
He went to be registered with Mary, who was promised in marriage to him, and who was expecting a child.
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to ungrateful and evil people.
So the lame man paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them.
