'Families' in the Bible

every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, whatsoever moveth upon the earth, after their families, went forth out of the ark.

Of these were the isles of the nations divided in their lands, every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanite spread abroad.

These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.

These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and of these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

and I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. And in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

And these are the names of the chiefs that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth,

And Joseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father's household, with bread, according to their families.

These are the heads of their fathers houses. The sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.

And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman; these are the families of Simeon.

The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.

And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.

And the sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.

And Eleazar Aaron's son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers houses of the Levites according to their families.

Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the passover.

Of the children of Zebulun, their generations, by their families, by their fathers houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the children of Joseph, namely , of the children of Ephraim, their generations, by their families, by their fathers houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the children of Manasseh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the children of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the children of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the children of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Thus did the children of Israel; according to all that Jehovah commanded Moses, so they encamped by their standards, and so they set forward, every one by their families, according to their fathers houses.

Number the children of Levi by their fathers houses, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.

And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, and Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

And the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers houses.

Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimeites: these are the families of the Gershonites.

The families of the Gershonites shall encamp behind the tabernacle westward.

And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites.

The families of the sons of Kohath shall encamp on the side of the tabernacle southward.

And the prince of the fathers house of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.

Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari.

And the prince of the fathers house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: they shall encamp on the side of the tabernacle northward.

All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Jehovah, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.

Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their families, by their fathers houses,

Cut ye not off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites;

Take the sum of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers houses, by their families;

This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and in bearing burdens:

This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting: and their charge shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them by their families, by their fathers houses;

This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tent of meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

And Moses and Aaron and the princes of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites by their families, and by their fathers houses,

and those that were numbered of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty.

These are they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all that did serve in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah by Moses.

And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, their families, and by their fathers houses,

even those that were numbered of them, by their families, by their fathers houses, were two thousand and six hundred and thirty.

These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, all that did serve in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah.

And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, by their families, by their fathers houses,

even those that were numbered of them by their families, were three thousand and two hundred.

These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah by Moses.

All those that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the princes of Israel numbered, by their families, and by their fathers houses,

And Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent: and the anger of Jehovah was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.

These are the families of the Reubenites; and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.

The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;

These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.

The sons of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;

These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.

And the sons of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.

These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.

The sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puvah, the family of the Punites;

These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.

The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.

These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.

The sons of Joseph after their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.

These are the families of Manasseh; and they that were numbered of them were fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.

These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Becher, the family of the Becherites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.

These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.

The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;

These are the sons of Benjamin after their families; and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.

These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.

All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were threescore and four thousand and four hundred.

The sons of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Berites.

These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them, fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

The sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;

These are the families of Naphtali according to their families; and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.

And these are they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.

These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korahites. And Kohath begat Amram.

Then drew near the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.

And ye shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer thou shalt give the less inheritance: wheresoever the lot falleth to any man, that shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers shall ye inherit.

And the heads of the fathers houses of the family of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the heads of the fathers houses of the children of Israel:

They were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

In the morning therefore ye shall be brought near by your tribes: and it shall be, that the tribe which Jehovah taketh shall come near by families; and the family which Jehovah shall take shall come near by households; and the household which Jehovah shall take shall come near man by man.

And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.

And the border of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and the border thereof . This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

And Moses gave unto the tribe of Gad, unto the children of Gad, according to their families.

This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

And Moses gave inheritance unto the half-tribe of Manasseh: and it was for the half-tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

and half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.

And the lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was unto the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.
