'Grieve' in the Bible

Yet I will not cut off every man of yours from My altar so that your eyes will fail from weeping and your soul grieve, and all the increase of your house will die in the prime of life.

Now the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have selected a king for Myself among his sons.”

For He does not afflict willinglyOr grieve the sons of men.

“And it will come about that all who see youWill shrink from you and say,‘Nineveh is devastated!Who will grieve for her?’Where will I seek comforters for you?”

“I will gather those who grieve about the appointed feasts—They came from you, O Zion;The reproach of exile is a burden on them.

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.
