'Grieved' in the Bible
David became angry and grieved and offended because of the Lord’s outburst against Uzzah, and that place has been called Perez-uzzah (outburst against Uzzah) to this day.
Then David invited Uriah, "Stay here today, and tomorrow I'll send you back." So Uriah remained in Jerusalem all that day and the next.
But Absalom fled and went to King Talmai son of Ammihud of Geshur. And David grieved over his son every day.
And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.
As the angel was stretching out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the LORD was grieved because of the calamity, so he told the angel who was afflicting the people, "Enough! Stay your hand!" So the angel of the LORD remained near the threshing floor that belonged to Araunah the Jebusite.
