'Hardens' in the Bible

when the dust hardens into a mass, and the clumps of earth stick together?

Blessed is the one who is always cautious, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into evil.

So then, God has mercy on whom he chooses to have mercy, and he hardens whom he chooses to harden.
