'Help' in the Bible
When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer, king of Zobah, David killed 22,000 Arameans.
He said, “If the Arameans are too strong for me, then you shall help me, but if the sons of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will come to help you.
When all the kings, servants of Hadadezer, saw that they were defeated by Israel, they made peace with Israel and served them. So the Arameans feared to help the sons of Ammon anymore.
Now when the woman of Tekoa spoke to the king, she fell on her face to the ground and prostrated herself and said, “Help, O king.”
But the people said, “You should not go out; for if we indeed flee, they will not care about us; even if half of us die, they will not care about us. But you are worth ten thousand of us; therefore now it is better that you be ready to help us from the city.”
“In my distress I called upon the Lord,Yes, I cried to my God;And from His temple He heard my voice,And my cry for help came into His ears.
“You have also given me the shield of Your salvation,And Your help makes me great.
