Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cling to his wife, and {the two (LXX/NT)} shall be one flesh.

These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob; all the souls were {eighteen (LXX)}.

And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were {nine (LXX)}souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob who came into Egypt, were {seventy-five (LXX/NT)}.

And all the souls who came out of the loins of Jacob were {seventy-five (LXX/NT)} souls. And Joseph was in Egypt already.

Now the time that the sons of Israel dwelt in {the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan (LXX)} was four hundred and thirty years.

Thou shall not revile the gods, nor {speak maliciously (LXX/NT)} of a ruler of thy people.

And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and will proclaim the name of LORD before thee. {I will be merciful to whom I may be merciful, and I will be compassionate to whomever I may be compassionate (LXX/NT)}.

Cursed is {every man who does not continue in all (LXX/NT)} the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Why do the nations rage, and the peoples meditate vain {things (LXX/NT)}?

For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their inward part is very wickedness. Their throat is an open sepulcher. With their tongue they {deceive (LXX/NT)}.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou have {perfected praise (LXX/NT)}, because of thine adversaries, that thou might still the enemy and the avenger.

I {beheld (LXX/NT)} LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices. My flesh also shall dwell in {hope (LXX/NT)}.

Thou {made known to (LXX/NT)} me the path of life. {Thou will fill me of joy with thy countenance (LXX/NT)}.

There is no speech nor language {in which (LXX)} their voice is not heard.

For dogs have encompassed me. A company of evil-doers have enclosed me. {They pierced (LXX/DSS)} my hands and my feet.

Blessed {are those (LXX/NT)} whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

The eyes of LORD are toward the righteous, and his ears are [open] to their {prayer (LXX/NT)}.

Sacrifice and offering thou did not desire, {but a body thou have prepared for me (LXX/NT)}. Whole burnt-offering and sacrifice for sin thou did not require.

Against thee, thee only, I have sinned, and done that which is evil in thy sight, that thou may be justified when thou speak, and {may prevail (LXX/NT)} when thou {are criticized (LXX/NT)}.

Let their table before them become a snare, and when they are in peace, a trap, {and for a stumbling block, and for a retribution to them (LXX/NT)}.

Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see, and {bow down their back (LXX/NT)} continually.

I will open my mouth in parable{s (LXX/NT)}. I will utter dark sayings of old,

For whom LORD loves he reproves, {and he whips every son whom he receives (LXX/NT)}.

Surely {the Lord is opposed to the arrogant (LXX/NT)}, but he gives grace to the lowly.

Unless LORD of hosts had left to us a {seed (LXX/NT)}, we should have been as Sodom, we should have been like Gomorrah.

And I will wait for LORD, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will {be a man who has trusted (LXX/NT)} in him.

And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, {and he who arises to rule over the Gentiles (LXX/NT)}. In him shall the Gentiles {hope (LXX/NT)}, and his resting-place shall be glorious.

Therefore thus says lord LORD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation, a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner-[stone], a sure foundation. He who believes {in him shall, no, not be shamed (LXX/NT)}.

And LORD said, Inasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and honor me with their lips, but have removed their heart far from me, {but in vain they worship me (LXX/NT)}, {teaching the commandments and doctrines of men

Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder. {I will destroy the wisdom of the wise (LXX/NT)}, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.

Who has {has known the mind (LXX/NT)} of LORD, or being his counselor has taught him?

He will not fail nor be discouraged till he has set justice in the earth. And {in his name Gentiles will hope (LXX/NT)}.

By myself I have sworn, the word has gone forth from my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, that to me every knee shall bow, every tongue will {confess to God (LXX/NT)}.

Now therefore, what do I do here, says LORD, seeing that my people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them howl, says LORD, and {because of you (LXX/NT)} my name is continually blasphemed {among the Gentiles (LXX/NT)}.

Incline your ear, and come to me. Hear, and your soul shall live. And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the {faithful holy things (LXX/NT)} of David.

The Spirit of lord LORD is upon me, because LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, {and recovering of sight to the blind (LXX/NT)}, and

I was {manifested (LXX/NT)} by those who did not ask {for me (LXX/NT)}. I am found by those who did not seek me. I said, Behold me, behold me, to a nation that was not called by my name.

I have spread out my hands all the day to a {disobedient and (LXX/NT)} rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, according to their own thoughts,

not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, {because they did not continue in my covenant, and I disregarded (LXX/NT)} them, says LORD

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says LORD: I will give my law{s (LXX/NT)} in their inward parts, and I will write {them (LXX/NT)} in their hearts. And I will be their God, and th

A curse on anyone who is lax in doing the Lord's work! A curse on anyone who keeps from carrying out his destruction!

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and {wonderful (LXX/NT)} day of LORD comes.

Yea, ye have borne the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god {Remphan (LXX/NT)}, your images which ye made to yourselves.

Behold ye {scoffers (LXX/NT)}, and look, and wonder marvelously. For I am working a work in your days, which ye will not believe though it be told you.

Therefore, I will have Him whipped and then release Him.”

And again, when God sent the Firstborn One [i.e., Jesus. See Rom. 8:29; Col. 1:15, 18; Rev. 1:5] into the world, He said [Deut. 32:43 LXX], "And all of God's angels should worship Him."

But God said [this] about the angels [Psa. 104:4 LXX], "He [i.e., God] makes His angels to be [like] winds and His servants [like] flames of fire." [Note: The idea is probably that angels obediently serve God's purpose similar to the way wind and lightening do].

And again, [Isa. 8:17 LXX], "I will place my trust in God." And again, [Isa. 8:18], "Look, [here] I am with the children whom God gave me."

Therefore, when Christ came into the world, He said [to God], [Psa. 40:6-8 LXX], "You did not want an [animal] sacrifice and an offering, but you prepared a body for me [to sacrifice].

[Hab. 2:3-4 LXX says], "For [it will be] only a short time [before] He [i.e., Christ], who is coming, will be here without delay.

And I will strike her children dead [or, "kill her children by some terrible calamity" See Ex. 5:3 LXX]. Then all the churches will know that I am the One who searches the inmost being of people [Note: The Greek says, "searches the kidneys and hearts." In that day these internal organs stood for the inner thoughts, emotions, etc.]. And I will repay each one of you people according to what you have done.
