'Population' in the Bible

Before they went to bed, the men of the city of Sodom, both young and old, the whole population, surrounded the house.

Samuel said to all the people, “Do you see the one the Lord has chosen? There is no one like him among the entire population.”And all the people shouted, “Long live the king!”

Nebuzaradan, the commander of the guards, deported the rest of the people who were left in the city, the deserters who had defected to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the population.

A large population is a king’s splendor,but a shortage of people is a ruler’s devastation.

And now the Lord says, “In three years, as a hired worker counts years, Moab’s splendor will become an object of contempt, in spite of a very large population. And those who are left will be few and weak.”

Today, I am the One who has made you a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests, and the population.

This is what the Lord says:I am about to stir up a destructive wind against Babylonand against the population of Leb-qamai.
