'Shut' in the Bible

Because it did not shut the doors of my mother’s womb,Nor hide trouble from my eyes.

“In the dark they dig into [the penetrable walls of] houses;They shut themselves up by day;They do not know the light [of day].

“Or who enclosed the sea with doorsWhen it burst forth and went out of the womb;

“[Crush and] hide them in the dust together;Shut them up in the hidden place [the house of death].

“His strong scales are his pride,Bound together as with a tight seal.
