'Sojourned' in the Bible
Now Abraham journeyed from there toward the land of the Negev, and settled between Kadesh and Shur; then he sojourned in Gerar.
now therefore, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my offspring or with my posterity, but according to the kindness that I have shown to you, you shall show to me and to the land in which you have sojourned.”
And Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines for many days.
He also commanded them saying, “Thus you shall say to my lord Esau: ‘Thus says your servant Jacob, “I have sojourned with Laban, and stayed until now;
Jacob came to his father Isaac at Mamre of Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had sojourned.
For their property had become too great for them to live together, and the land where they sojourned could not sustain them because of their livestock.
Now Jacob lived in the land where his father had sojourned, in the land of Canaan.
