'Sons' in the Bible

But I have a few things against thee: that thou hast there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a snare before the sons of Israel, to eat of idol sacrifices and commit fornication.

And I heard the number of the sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:

having a great and high wall; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names inscribed, which are those of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.
