'Stops' in the Bible

They have venom like the venom of a serpent;Like a deaf cobra that stops up its ear,

The gaiety of tambourines ceases,The noise of revelers stops,The gaiety of the harp ceases.

He who walks righteously and speaks with sincerity,He who rejects unjust gainAnd shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe;He who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshedAnd shuts his eyes from looking upon evil;
