'Strokes' in the Bible

I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men,

Stripes that wound scour away evil,And strokes reach the innermost parts.

Which used to strike the peoples in fury with unceasing strokes,Which subdued the nations in anger with unrestrained persecution.
