'Sun' in the Bible
Their line has gone out through all the earth,And their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun,
A Psalm of Asaph. The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken,And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
Let them be as a snail which melts away as it goes along,Like the miscarriages of a woman which never see the sun.
Let them fear You while the sun endures,And as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
May his name endure forever;May his name increase as long as the sun shines; And let men bless themselves by him;Let all nations call him blessed.
Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; You have prepared the light and the sun.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
“His descendants shall endure foreverAnd his throne as the sun before Me.
He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the place of its setting.
When the sun rises they withdrawAnd lie down in their dens.
From the rising of the sun to its settingThe name of the Lord is to be praised.
The sun will not smite you by day,Nor the moon by night.
The sun to rule by day,For His lovingkindness is everlasting,
Praise Him, sun and moon;Praise Him, all stars of light!
