'Tastes' in the Bible

I'm now 80 years old! I can hardly tell the difference between what tastes good or bad! I can't tell what I eat or drink! I can't hear the voice of men and women when they sing! So why should your servant be an added burden to your majesty the king?

The ear scrutinizes speech just as the palate tastes food."

Though evil tastes sweet in his mouth, though he conceals it under his tongue,

Since the ear tests words like a palate tastes food,

No longer do they drink wine accompanied by singing; even beer tastes bitter to those who drink it.
