'Tests' in the Bible

The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,And His soul hates the [malevolent] one who loves violence.

But, O Lord of hosts, who judges righteously,Who tests the feelings and the heart (mind),Let me see Your vengeance on them,For to You I have committed my cause.
