'Thieves' in the Bible

Your rulers are rebelsAnd companions of thieves;Everyone loves a bribeAnd chases after rewards.They do not defend the orphan,Nor does the widow’s plea come before them.

Now was not Israel a laughingstock to you? Or was he caught among thieves? For each time you speak about him you shake your head in scorn.

“If grape gatherers came to you,Would they not leave gleanings?If thieves came by night,They would destroy only until they had enough.

“If thieves came to you,If robbers by night—O how you will be ruined!—Would they not steal only until they had enough?If grape gatherers came to you,Would they not leave some gleanings?
