'Watching' in the Bible

After saying this, Jesus was taken up while those who had gathered together were watching, and a cloud took him out of their sight.

but their plot became known to him. They were even watching the gates day and night to murder him,

That very night, before Herod was going to bring him out, Peter, bound with two chains, was sleeping between two soldiers, and guards in front of the door were watching the prisoners.
