'Whisper' in the Bible

“Now a word was secretly brought to me,And my ear received a whisper of it.

“Yet these are just the fringes of His ways [mere samples of His power],The faintest whisper of His voice!Who can contemplate the thunder of His [full] mighty power?”

All who hate me whisper together about me;Against me they devise my hurt [imagining the worst for me], saying,

He hushed the storm to a gentle whisper,So that the waves of the sea were still.

O Lord, they sought You in distress;They managed only a prayerful whisperWhen Your discipline was upon them.

Then you [Jerusalem] will be brought low,You will speak from the earth,And from the dust where you lie face downYour muffled words will come.Your voice will also be like that of a spirit from the earth [like one produced by a medium],And your speech will whisper and squeak from the dust.
