'Withers' in the Bible
The earth mourns and withers, the world fades and withers, the exalted of the people of the earth fade away.
The land mourns and pines away,Lebanon is shamed and withers;Sharon is like a desert plain,And Bashan and Carmel lose their foliage.
And all the host of heaven will wear away,And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll; All their hosts will also wither awayAs a leaf withers from the vine,Or as one withers from the fig tree.
The grass withers, the flower fades,When the breath of the Lord blows upon it;Surely the people are grass.
The grass withers, the flower fades,But the word of our God stands forever.
