'World' in the Bible
“He raises the poor from the dust,He lifts the needy from the ash heapTo make them sit with nobles,And inherit a seat of honor;For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s,And He set the world on them.
“Then the channels of the sea appeared,The foundations of the world were laid bareBy the rebuke of the Lord,At the blast of the breath of His nostrils.
Tremble before Him, all the earth;Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
“He is driven from light into darkness,And chased from the inhabited world.
“Who gave Him authority over the earth?And who has laid on Him the whole world?
“Whether for correction, or for His world,Or for lovingkindness, He causes it to happen.
And He will judge the world in righteousness;He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.
From men with Your hand, O Lord,From men of the world, whose portion is in this life,And whose belly You fill with Your treasure;They are satisfied with children,And leave their abundance to their babes.

Their line has gone out through all the earth,And their utterances to the end of the world.In them He has placed a tent for the sun,
A Psalm of David.The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains,The world, and those who dwell in it.
Let all the earth fear the Lord;Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

“If I were hungry I would not tell you,For the world is Mine, and all it contains.
