'Anger' in the Bible
When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, he gave this message to Shemaiah: "They have humbled themselves, so I will not destroy them. I will deliver them soon. My anger will not be unleashed against Jerusalem through Shishak.
So when Rehoboam humbled himself, the Lord relented from his anger and did not annihilate him; Judah experienced some good things.
Now I intend to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, so that he may relent from his raging anger.
Now, don't be stubborn like your fathers! Submit to the Lord and come to his sanctuary which he has permanently consecrated. Serve the Lord your God so that he might relent from his raging anger.
This will happen because they have abandoned me and offered sacrifices to other gods, angering me with all the idols they have made. My anger will ignite against this place and will not be extinguished!'"
