'Atoned' in the Bible

He touched my mouth with it and said:Now that this has touched your lips,your wickedness is removedand your sin is atoned for.

By this, then, Jacob's guilt will be atoned for, and this will be the full harvest that comes from the removal of his sin: when he makes all the altar stones like pulverized chalkstones, no Asherah poles or incense altars will be left standing.

And it was revealed in my ears [by] Yahweh of hosts: "Surely this sin will not be atoned for you until you die!" says the Lord, Yahweh of hosts.
