'Clutches' in the Bible

"I will deliver you from the power of the wicked. I will free you from the clutches of violent people."

Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! For he rescues the oppressed from the clutches of evildoers.

You yourself will not escape his clutches, but will certainly be captured and handed over to him. You must confront the king of Babylon face to face and answer to him personally. Then you must go to Babylon.
