'Descendants' in the Bible

“You will not be united with them in burial,Because you have destroyed your land,You have slain your people.May the descendants of evildoers never be named!

For My sword is satiated [with blood] in heaven;Indeed, it will come down for judgment on EdomAnd on the people whom I have doomed for destruction.

‘For I will pour out water on him who is thirsty,And streams on the dry ground;I will pour out My Spirit on your offspringAnd My blessing on your descendants;

“I have not spoken in secret,In a corner of a land of darkness;I did not say to the descendants of Jacob,‘Seek Me in vain [with no benefit for yourselves].’I, the Lord, speak righteousness [the truth—trustworthy, a straightforward correlation between deeds and words],Declaring things that are upright.

“Your offspring would have been like the sand,And your descendants [in number] like the grains of sand;Their name would never be cut off or destroyed from My presence.”

Then their offspring will be known among the nations,And their descendants among the peoples.All who see them [in their prosperity] will recognize and acknowledge themThat they are the people whom the Lord has blessed.

“They will not labor in vain,Or bear children for disaster;For they are the descendants of those blessed by the Lord,And their offspring with them.
