'Devastated' in the Bible
However, before the youth knows enough to reject what's wrong and choose what's right, the land whose two kings you dread will be devastated."
It is true, LORD, that Assyrian kings have devastated all these countries,
""Didn't you hear how in the distant past I decided to do it, how I planned from days of old? Now I've made it happen that fortified cities become devastated, besieged heaps.
"This what the LORD says: "I'll answer you in a time of favor, and on a day of salvation I'll help you. I have watched over you, and given you as a covenant for the people, to restore the land, to reassign the inheritances that have been devastated;
Your builders are working faster than your destroyers, and those who devastated you go away from you.
Indeed, your ruins, your desolate places, and your devastated land will now be too crowded for your inhabitants, while those who swallowed you up will be far away.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins; they will restore the places long devastated; they will build again the ruined cities, they will build again the places devastated for many generations.
