'Distress' in the Bible
We have heard the news about it, and our hands are limp. Distress has seized us like a woman in labor.
For this is what the LORD says: "I'm going to throw out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and I'll bring distress on them so they'll experience it."
The LORD said, "Have I not set you free for a good purpose? Have I not intervened for you with your enemies in times of trouble and times of distress?
