'Effect' in the Bible

And all of these blessings shall come upon you, and {they shall have an effect on you} if you listen to the voice of Yahweh your God:

From the blood of [the] slain, from the fat of [the] mighty, the bow of Jonathan did not turn back, and the sword of Saul did not return {without effect}.
