'Following' in the Bible

He had conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest; and following Adonijah they helped him.

“But if you or your sons indeed turn away from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,

So he returned from following him, and took the pair of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the implements of the oxen, and gave it to the people and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah and ministered to him.

He acted very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites had done, whom the Lord cast out before the sons of Israel.
