'Gifts' in the Bible
And having come into the house they saw the little child with Mary his mother, and falling down did him homage. And having opened their treasures, they offered to him gifts, gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
If therefore ye, being wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much rather shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to them that ask of him?
If therefore ye, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much rather shall the Father who is of heaven give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
And he looked up and saw the rich casting their gifts into the treasury;
for all these out of their abundance have cast into the gifts of God; but she out of her need has cast in all the living which she had.
For the gifts and the calling of God are not subject to repentance.
But having different gifts, according to the grace which has been given to us, whether it be prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
But there are distinctions of gifts, but the same Spirit;
and to a different one faith, in the power of the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healing in the power of the same Spirit;
And God has set certain in the assembly: first, apostles; secondly, prophets; thirdly, teachers; then miraculous powers; then gifts of healings; helps; governments; kinds of tongues.
have all gifts of healings? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
But desire earnestly the greater gifts, and yet shew I unto you a way of more surpassing excellence.
Wherefore he says, Having ascended up on high, he has led captivity captive, and has given gifts to men.
For every high priest taken from amongst men is established for men in things relating to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins;
For every high priest is constituted for the offering both of gifts and sacrifices; whence it is needful that this one also should have something which he may offer.
If then indeed he were upon earth, he would not even be a priest, there being those who offer the gifts according to the law,
the which is an image for the present time, according to which both gifts and sacrifices, unable to perfect as to conscience him that worshipped, are offered,
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained testimony of being righteous, God bearing testimony to his gifts, and by it, having died, he yet speaks.
And they that dwell upon the earth rejoice over them, and are full of delight, and shall send gifts one to another, because these, the two prophets, tormented them that dwell upon the earth.
