'Herself' in the Bible
for she said to herself, “If I can just touch His robe, I’ll be made well!”
After these days his wife Elizabeth conceived and kept herself in seclusion for five months. She said,
So then, if she gives herself to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she gives herself to another man, she is not an adulteress.
and is well known for good works—that is, if she has brought up children, shown hospitality, washed the saints’ feet, helped the afflicted, and devoted herself to every good work.
By faith even Sarah herself, when she was unable to have children, received power to conceive offspring, even though she was past the age, since she considered that the One who had promised was faithful.
But I have this against you: You tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and teaches and deceives My slaves to commit sexual immorality and to eat meat sacrificed to idols.
As much as she glorified herself and lived luxuriously,give her that much torment and grief,for she says in her heart,“I sit as a queen;I am not a widow,and I will never see grief.”
Let us be glad, rejoice, and give Him glory,because the marriage of the Lamb has come,and His wife has prepared herself.
