'Kingdoms' in the Bible
As my hand seized the idolatrous kingdoms,whose idols exceeded those of Jerusalem and Samaria,
Listen, a tumult on the mountains,like that of a mighty people!Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms,like nations being gathered together!The Lord of Hosts is mobilizing an army for war.
And Babylon, the jewel of the kingdoms,the glory of the pride of the Chaldeans,will be like Sodom and Gomorrahwhen God overthrew them.
Those who see you will stare at you;they will look closely at you:“Is this the man who caused the earth to tremble,who shook the kingdoms,
He stretched out His hand over the sea;He made kingdoms tremble.The Lord has commandedthat the Canaanite fortresses be destroyed.
And at the end of the 70 years, the Lord will restore Tyre and she will go back into business, prostituting herself with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth.
Lord of Hosts, God of Israel, who is enthroned above the cherubim, You are God—You alone—of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.
Now, Lord our God, save us from his power so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord—You alone.
