'Knocking' in the Bible
They set your sanctuary on fire; they desecrate your dwelling place by knocking it to the ground.
The Beloved about Her Lover: I was asleep, but my mind was dreaming. Listen! My lover is knocking at the door! The Lover to His Beloved: "Open for me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one! My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night."
Then all the color drained from the king's face and he became alarmed. The joints of his hips gave way, and his knees began knocking together.
Now Peter continued knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were greatly astonished.
Listen! I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home and share a meal with him, and he with me.
