'Night' in the Bible
Now there were shepherds in the same part of the country, keeping watch over their sheep by night in the open fields,
and then being a widow of eighty-four years. She was never absent from the Temple, but worshipped, by day and by night, with fasting and prayer.
"Rabbi," replied Peter, "all night long we have worked hard and caught nothing; but at your command I will let down the nets."
About that time He went out on one occasion into the hill country to pray; and He remained all night in prayer to God.
And He said to them, "Which of you shall have a friend and shall go to him in the middle of the night and say, "'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread;
"But God said to him, "'Foolish man, this night your life is demanded from you; and these preparations--for whom shall they be?'
On that night, I tell you, there will be two men in one bed: one will be taken away and the other left behind.
And will not God avenge the wrongs of His own People who cry aloud to Him day and night, although He seems slow in taking action on their behalf?
His habit at this time was to teach in the Temple by day, but to go out and spend the night on the Mount called the Oliveyard.
