'Offering' in the Bible
He has no need to do every day what those priests do, to offer sacrifices first for their own sins and then for the sins of the people, since he did this in offering himself once for all.
So when he came into the world, he said, "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.
By his will we have been made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
And every priest stands day after day serving and offering the same sacrifices again and again -- sacrifices that can never take away sins.
For by one offering he has perfected for all time those who are made holy.
Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
For the bodies of those animals whose blood the high priest brings into the sanctuary as an offering for sin are burned outside the camp.
